Website Update Policy (July 2, 2007)
In the past there has been some confusion about updates: how to submit them, what the charges would be, etc. Virtual Magpie Design is in an expansion phase right now and as part of that I’ve developed the following processes. I want you to feel comfortable requesting updates, and knowing that there won’t be any surprises!
I’ve created two pricing options for greater flexibility. All you have to do is choose the option that’s feels right for you and let me know your choice whenever you request updates for your site.
Option A) Updates can always be made at the regular hourly rate, which is $95 per hour, with a one hour minimum per occurrence. This means that it’s in your best interest to have an hour’s worth of work for me to do, each time you request changes. You can also gather your changes and ask me for a case-by-case estimate, which I’m happy to do.
Option B) Pay $25 as an ongoing monthly retainer that entitles you to an hour’s worth of basic changes, once a month. Additional hours will be billed at $75 per hour (instead of $95). There is a one-hour minimum per occurrence on all updates. This means that to avoid scheduling overage, it’s best to collect your updates for the month and submit them all at once. Monthly retainers will be paid recurring via PayPal, unless we have made other arrangements.
I’m also including a form (at the bottom of this page) that must be used when requesting site updates. To ensure clarity, correct changes and your satisfaction I will only review update requests that use this form and state clearly what changes are needed. Please copy the form for every change you request, to avoid confusion. If this means sending me an email with six filled-out forms listed neatly in a column, that’s A-Okay. :}
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments or concerns about this new policy. Thank you so much for your business and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you further.
